HOW MUCH IS TATTOO REMOVAL

At LaserAway in Burlingame, tattoo removal costs typically range from $200 to $420 per session, while a complete removal package costs $2,008 total on average. The final price depends primarily on your tattoo's ink colors, size, location and density, plus your skin tone.

Quarter

$200/session

Dollar Bill

$420/session

* LaserAway publishes rates for two size tiers, Quarter and Dollar Bill. Three larger tiers, up to Full Page, and its 3- and 10-treatment package pricing, are not published and require a free consultation.

Refund Policy

All treatment sales are final and non-refundable, including unused sessions in a multi-session package. In the rare case corporate approves an exception, refunds are issued only as store credit, never cash or a card reversal. Pre-paid sessions cannot be transferred to another person. When a package includes free promotional sessions, paid sessions are counted as used first — the free sessions carry $0 cash or refund value.

No-Show Policy

Sessions must be cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Missing that window or not showing up forfeits the entire prepaid session — LaserAway deducts one full treatment from your package balance rather than charging a fee. Initial consultations are exempt: no penalty for cancelling or rescheduling those.

Financing Options

Financing requires a credit check. LaserAway accepts CareCredit, a medical credit card with a 0%-interest introductory period — but if you don't pay off the full balance before that period ends, you get charged interest on the whole amount, not just what's left. They also work with outside lenders like Cherry to set up monthly payment plans. With good credit, a full 16-session package for a quarter-sized tattoo can be financed for around $109 a month over a year.

LaserAway Burlingame Reviews

4.3

out of 5

Based on 138 patient reviews

Customers generally describe the Burlingame location as professional and welcoming, with staff who demonstrate care and thoroughness during treatments. The clinic operates with a medical office atmosphere despite being part of a larger aesthetic chain. Most clients report positive experiences, though some have encountered significant scheduling issues and disappointing customer service responses to treatment concerns. The clinic employs nursing staff including Nurse Natalie, Nurse Karen, and technician Lydia, who are consistently praised for their professionalism and expertise. Staff members are described as knowledgeable, thorough, and attentive to client comfort levels during procedures. The technicians take time to explain treatments clearly and provide detailed before and after care instructions, with several clients specifically requesting certain staff members for their expertise. Front desk staff are described as welcoming and thorough in answering questions, helping clients feel at ease during their visits. However, chronic lateness is a significant issue, with appointments regularly delayed 15 to 30 minutes without prior notification. While scheduling can be challenging, the clinic has shown responsiveness to serious customer service issues, reaching out to resolve problems and offering complimentary sessions when mistakes occur. Some clients have experienced unprofessional responses from corporate representatives regarding refund requests. Procedures are frequently described as painless or comfortable, with staff regularly checking on client comfort levels throughout treatments. Technicians are noted for being gentle and accommodating to individual needs, adjusting settings based on personal comfort. The clinic uses numbing cream for certain treatments, allowing adequate time for effectiveness even if it extends appointment duration. Staff demonstrate attention to safety protocols by ensuring skin is clear and checking for any contraindications before treatment. However, some clients have experienced adverse reactions including painful hives that persisted across multiple sessions, with concerning reports that staff continued using the same settings despite documented skin reactions. Package pricing appears substantial, with one client mentioning $2,194 for combined underarm and Brazilian treatments. Some confusion has occurred regarding package terms, particularly around age restrictions and which specific treatments count toward purchased sessions, leading to disputes about service delivery versus payment.
