HOW MUCH IS TATTOO REMOVAL

At LaserAway in San Jose, tattoo removal costs typically range from $200 to $420 per session, while a complete removal package costs $2,008 total on average. What you actually pay depends on your tattoo's size, colors, density and location, along with your skin tone.

Quarter

$200/session

Dollar Bill

$420/session

* LaserAway publishes rates for two size tiers, Quarter and Dollar Bill. Three larger tiers, up to Full Page, and its 3- and 10-treatment package pricing, are not published and require a free consultation.

Refund Policy

All treatment sales are final and non-refundable, including unused sessions in a multi-session package. In the rare case corporate approves an exception, refunds are issued only as store credit, never cash or a card reversal. Pre-paid sessions cannot be transferred to another person. When a package includes free promotional sessions, paid sessions are counted as used first — the free sessions carry $0 cash or refund value.

No-Show Policy

Sessions must be cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Missing that window or not showing up forfeits the entire prepaid session — LaserAway deducts one full treatment from your package balance rather than charging a fee. Initial consultations are exempt: no penalty for cancelling or rescheduling those.

Financing Options

Financing requires a credit check. LaserAway accepts CareCredit, a medical credit card with a 0%-interest introductory period — but if you don't pay off the full balance before that period ends, you get charged interest on the whole amount, not just what's left. They also work with outside lenders like Cherry to set up monthly payment plans. With good credit, a full 16-session package for a quarter-sized tattoo can be financed for around $109 a month over a year.

LaserAway San Jose Reviews

3.8

Based on 216 patient reviews

Customers describe LaserAway San Jose with mixed experiences, ranging from highly positive interactions with specific staff members to serious concerns about business practices. Many clients praise the friendly environment and professional atmosphere, while others report issues with service quality and transparency. Some customers express strong loyalty to particular nurses and technicians, while others raise concerns about treatment effectiveness and billing practices. The clinic employs registered nurses including Nurse Dasha, Nurse Sonia, and Nurse Meghan who handle various treatments. Customers consistently praise Nurse Dasha for her expertise, calm demeanor, and honest approach to treatments. She is described as knowledgeable, precise, and skilled in administering Botox, fillers, and skin treatments with natural-looking results. Nurse Sonia receives recognition for being thorough and attentive during laser sessions, while technicians like Anita are noted for their professionalism and effectiveness in hair removal treatments. Front desk staff including Eva, Dezrae, and Michelle receive praise for providing welcoming customer service and helping clients feel comfortable. Consultation experiences vary significantly, with some customers reporting clear explanations and honest recommendations, while others describe misleading pricing information and pressure tactics. Several clients report difficulties with scheduling, including appointments running 25 minutes late and last-minute rescheduling without notice. Communication responsiveness appears inconsistent, with some customers reporting unreturned calls and emails over extended periods. One customer reports minimal fading after four sessions on a small tattoo, expressing concern about potentially weak laser settings or machines. This contrasts sharply with their previous experience at another facility where a larger tattoo showed significant improvement by the fourth session. The customer questions whether the clinic intentionally uses less effective settings to encourage additional package purchases. The clinic uses medical-grade laser technology described as suitable for all skin types. However, safety concerns have been raised, including one reported burn injury following a laser treatment session. Some customers question the effectiveness of the laser settings used for tattoo removal compared to other facilities. Customers describe pricing as expensive and sometimes misleading. Several clients report being quoted one price initially, then paying significantly more after signing financing agreements. Some customers feel trapped by financing terms that reportedly cannot be canceled once signed. Disputes over refunds have occurred, with claims that promised refunds are denied due to package discount structures.
